CALL FOR ARTISTS - WARKWORTH IN THE PARK

The Warkworth Art (& Music) in the Park Committee is pleased to extend an invitation to you to apply for the 2014 event.  The "Arts Designated" village of Warkworth, Ontario (www.warkworth.ca) is hosting its fourth annual Warkworth Art in the Park Juried Show and Sale on Saturday, May 17, 2014 and Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Mill Creek Park in Warkworth.   Artists working in many different media (ceramic, fibre art, fine art, glass, jewellery, metal, photography, sculpture, basketry and more) are invited to apply for participation in this first-class event that provides a great opportunity to display and sell work in a magnificent venue during part of Victoria Day weekend.

Call for Entry is here: http://www.artsbrampton.ca/NF/WAITP2014.pdf   Independent jurors review artists’ submissions of images of current work. Acceptance will be solely on the basis of these images.  (Returning participants do not have to be juried for the next event.) To take advantage of our lower rates, a deadline of January 17th, 2014 must be met.  Please check our web page for further information.  www.warkworthartinthepark.ca

In particular, note the calibre of work that was presented at 2013 event.   Once again, with an innovative and aggressive advertising and promotional campaign in 2013, we were pleased that our event attendance increased from the former year and our vendors, who have indicated they will be returning, were very pleased with their sales and their contacts.  We have applied for another grant to allow us to have live music, suitable to an artistic venue, in the park again.  As before, there will be extra venues on the main streets of the village, within easy walking distances, that attract an even larger and varied audience.  The entire village welcomes our visitors from all over the province!

There is no admission charge for visitors for any part of the weekend - the Art (& Music) in the Park, the heritage tours and displays, the storytelling event and the metal sculpture venue. The park is handicap accessible and a large playground at the park encourages families to attend.  Participants and visitors have access to food right at the park or at the nearby businesses.  We rent a building adjacent to the park for the vendors' use - washrooms - kitchenette or a place to relax. We are more than pleased to answer any questions that you might have.  info@warkworthartinthepark.ca
