Missing the Farmers Market? Watch this!

The Farmers’ Market and Art in the Open ended for another season this October 12, but don’t fret. Remember the friendly people, beautiful art and delicious food, by watching this video the Economic Development Office has produced: Art in the Open is one of the features of our distinctive Brampton Farmers’ Market as well as the entertainment - Chinguacousy Concert Band makes a cameo.

Kudos to Beaux-Arts Brampton

Kudos to Beaux-Arts Brampton for their Mural Launch event this past Saturday. It was a fabulous, huge success with over 200 attendees and the Honorable Mayor Fennell attending and speaking.  Congrats to all the artists chosen for their wonderful work.(see below). BAC Snap'd all over Brampton!

Snapd also covered our recognition of corporate donors and sponsors at the Mayor's Luncheon for the Arts. The theme? Rule, Brittania! Good british music and food was enjoyed by all. Recipents for the Harry Dale Literary Grant, Leon Argamasilla Bacardi Award of Excellence and Arts Person of the Year were also announced. See the action:[]=501251

  1.  Identifying a prospect and creating a fundraising pipeline.
  2. Value proposition of the organization. 
  3. Effective Implementation of process.
Sudarshan “Suds” Jagannathan is an active and thinking citizen of India and Canada. Professionally, Suds brings 16 years in Sales/Consulting and being a catalyst for Change across the travel, telecom and financial sectors (last role - Director, Business Development, Canada - Travelport). Here, Suds has been successful in creating new or breathing life into existing 'organisms', and yield powerful results. Suds is also part of Toronto's little known secret,, a volunteer consulting group, where Suds focuses on Marketing, Sales, Fundraising and Branding initiatives to non-profit agencies - again, with real results. Additionally, Suds mentors new immigrants and has served on a few non-profit boards. Suds believes in dreaming big and executing small victories that realize that dream. Latest rumor is that Suds is now transitioning over to the Social Development sector, continuing to daydream and EXECUTE. Suds' pipeline of ideas include Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Enterprises. With so much time left, Suds plays cricket for the Toronto's oldest cricket club and is learning how to sing. Suds is driven by the desire to illuminate within, share the light with the world and believes in the Gandhian doctrine - "It starts with one".

CALL FOR SUBMISSSIONS: First Holiday Arts Showcase. Deadline October 7, 2013 

The Art Gallery at the Rose Theatre
The Art Gallery is a unique exhibition space located on the upper level of the Rose Theatre in Brampton. The gallery features exhibits of original work by community and professional artists. Exhibitors benefit from exposure to theatre patrons, who have significantly higher than average household income.

Call for Submission
Visual artists are invited to submit works of art for the first Holiday Arts Showcase, where we’ll feature a variety of artists during the festive season. Your work will be showcased from November 4 to December 27, 2013. Original art and one-of-kind pieces are preferred in all media including painting, mixed media, and photography. (Good Christmas gifts)

You will benefit from:
  • Exposure to cultural enthusiasts, who will be attending fourteen(14) shows held at the theatre during the showcase
  • Marketing including one full page in the ODEUM magazine Nov/Dec issue and online at the Rose Theatre website
  •   Affluent demographics: 
    1. have disposable income for leisure & entertainment
    2. 81% own their home
    3. higher income than avg. household
